I’m honored to be invited as the sharing speaker yesterday where more than 70 of us were gathered online and the audience are first rank Unit Trust Consultants from Penang, Miri, Bintulu, and Sibu branches.
My main sharing is focused on ways to grow a sustainable business of clientele with good practices and it was prepared according to my many years of experience in the financial services industry. It was certainly a gathering between the East and West.
I sincerely hope that all 70 colleagues can benefit from my 2.5 hours of sharing and build a successful and happy life. If each of them can apply the knowledge and skill to engage 100 clients, then there will be 7,000 Malaysians who will benefit in their investment planning and reaching financial independence.
Before Covid 19, I would not imagine that I would be traveling to different states to share with colleagues from different branches. It’s not because I’m being stingy to share, but it’s more due to our busy schedule of servicing our clients and developing our team.
Fast forward things have certainly changed, where more than half of our knowledge sessions such as agency meetings, training, and workshops are done online through platforms such as Webex, Zoom, and Teams. Although virtual meetings are limited in personal interaction and decreased engagement between the speaker and audiences, the advantages have certainly weighed more and I find that virtual meetings helped us in areas like conveniences, time efficiency, cost savings, and enabling access to nationwide audiences.
Moving on, I feel that we should strive for a balance between virtual with in-person physical meetings as both have their own strengths and should be adopted by any professionals and business people.
