#Throwback to an awesome event last week where I was invited as a sharing speaker to share with the students and faculty members of the University Utara Malaysia (UUM)🏫 on personal financial management and career advancement opportunity. 💻The 3 hours online workshop was titled “The Pathway to Licensing and Career Advancement” and it was organized by UUM’s Finance and Banking Society (FABS).
😃 Special thanks to Dr. Ooi who is the senior lecturer in UUM School of Economics, Finance and Banking for inviting me, and many thanks to all the participants who joined that day.
💰”Manage Well, Grow Wealth – Youth Series” was my topic of the day for the 358 participants who are mostly young adult students ranging from the age of 18 to 25 👫.
🧑🏻Our youth being the future pillar of our society deserve a much-heightened awareness in financial planning and management. It’s very important especially when they are still young.😱 I shook my head to realize that between the years of 2018 to 2022, there were 10,138 cases of bankruptcy in our country which involved youth between the ages of 25 to 34; and 45% of the youth didn’t pay back their debt on time, while another 40% of them spend more than they can afford with the form of borrowing.
😕Many youth wish to get rich quickly and hope to achieve it without the need to pay for their hard work, perserverance, and patience. Often, they are the victims of money scams that lure them into thinking that they can get an extremenly high investment returns with risk free. And when the scam were exposed, they were caught in the middle and not able to save themselves financially.
💡If only they had a proper understanding of personal financial planning and the right temperament for successful investing, then it would be a game changer! 🤔
Prior to the workshop, I frequenly asked myself :
📝 “With what I have known right now, what financial knowledge I will give to myself if I’m back to 20 years old?”
✅ Focusing on the question I asked myself above, I prepared and presented on that day with the current financial statistics of our youth; the causes bankruptcy among the youth; the key things to look out for when borrowing for purchases; keeping a check on our needs which are easily fulfilled and wants which never ends. 🌅 Later, I share insights and practical, and proven steps on the pathway to being financially free while revealing the solid and proven investment strategy that we have been using to help hundreds of our clients in building wealth for a secure financial future💰.
😄I can conclude that it was a great event and successfully organized and chaired by the students. After my session, I received many good feedback and I’m really happy and grateful for being able to share my experiences and contribute the knowledge with the group of students. 🙏🏻It’s my sincere wish that all of them can do well with their studies to become a responsible and financially sound person while pursuing the journey of financial freedom in an ethical way.
